Senior Management Team

ROBERT POSNER, CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Robert joined the Trust in 2009 and, following five years of acting as its Chief Operating Officer, took up the role of Chief Executive in 2015. In this new role he provides the Trust with the leadership to ensure its successful growth in line with its strategic and operational objectives. Robert’s aim is to build on the excellent reputation and work of the Trust over the past 25 years and steer the organisation to achieve its next set of ambitious goals.

MARSHA SELWYN, DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION

Marsha joined the Trust in 2003. She runs the London office and is responsible for all administration aspects of the Trust including HR, employee policies and liaising with end users and suppliers. She is also company secretary. Before joining the Trust Marsha was director and general manager of an independent London health club.

LUCY GLENNON, DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY AND POLICY

Lucy has worked at the Anne Frank Trust since 2004. She is responsible for our education strategy, ensuring we have a strong understanding of the external policy environment in which we work, our communications and campaigns activity and increasing the charity’s profile and influence whilst extending the reach and attractiveness of our services. Lucy is a Fellow in Holocaust Education through the Imperial War Museum and Yad Vashem and has an MA in Holocaust Studies.

SARA POLLINS, HEAD OF FUNDRAISING

Sara is responsible for securing donations from individuals to fund our work, manages fundraising events, major donors and has responsibility for trusts and foundations. She has a BSc (Hons) in Social Policy and Politics. Sara has worked in the charity sector as a fundraiser for over 10 years, working on events, community, corporate and major donor fundraising. She has been a volunteer youth leader and taken part in numerous charity challenge events, including the Capital to Coast Cycle Ride.

SHONA GIBSS, HEAD OF EDUCATION DELIVERY

Shona first joined the Anne Frank Trust in 2012. She manages the education team in the South and the Prison project and is responsible for all community exhibitions. Shona also leads on our evaluation and reporting.

Heather is a qualified teacher with a degree in Theology and Religious Studies who joined the Trust in 2008. Manages the education team in the North and has overall responsibility for the development of our education resources and staff development.

MUKITH KHALISADAR, LONDON REGIONAL MANAGER

Mukith joined the Trust in 2006 from the Prince’s Trust. He runs the London Schools Project and his time is devoted to securing and developing educational projects; training and leading creative workshops in London, and helping to manage the Anne Frank Ambassadors Programme.

AIMEE HARDY, LONDON PROJECT OFFICER

Aimée joined the trust in 2015 after completing an MA at UCL in Dutch Studies. Previous to this, Aimée studied French, German and Dutch at the University of Sheffield, and worked as a teacher and translator in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as two years as an English teacher in a London secondary school. She is now responsible for delivering our schools project across London, helping young people understand the dangers of prejudice and discrimination.

 

VAL ROSS, EASTERN REGIONAL MANAGER

Val is the Trust’s manager in the East of England and is responsible for education and community programmes in the region. In addition, she has developed and delivered equality and dignity training programmes to a range of organisations. Val currently studying for an MA in Pastoral Theology. Prior to joining the Trust Val worked in the public, voluntary and commercial sectors as a policy maker, trainer, teacher and researcher.

GRACE DUNNE, NORTH EAST REGIONAL MANAGER

Grace’s work centres round placing Anne Frank: A History for Today in schools, and working with pupils to develop their skills as Peer Guides. She works closely with community and youth groups in the North East, especially Young People in Conversation, an interfaith programme. Previously, she worked in museum marketing and education, completing an MA in Museum Studies. Currently on maternity leave.

ANYA BONNER, NORTH EAST PROJECT OFFICER

‘Anya joined the Anne Frank Trust as freelancer in 2014. Now, she delivers the schools programme across the North East, as well as working with community groups and local authorities in Newcastle. She also works for the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.

 

MARIAN MCQUEEN, NORTH WEST REGIONAL MANAGER

Marian joined the Trust in 2012. With a background in teaching and school improvement, she has developed close links with schools and local authorities in the North West. Marian has delivered both ‘Anne Frank: A History for Today’ and ‘Anne Frank + You’ in a wide range of locations, working with the public and students from Key Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Francesca de sando, north west regional MANAGER

Francesca is a qualified teacher with a degree in Languages and Linguistics. She works alongside Marian in the North West Region, with a particular focus on our Key Stage 3 and 4 Realising Ambition programme, as well as helping pupils to develop the skills and knowledge to become Peer Guides and Anne Frank Ambassadors, Francesca is also an active Volunteer in her local community, coordinating and facilitating group sessions and programmes to support people who are experiencing Mental Health issues.

GRACE NELSON, YORKSHIRE & HUMBER REGIONAL MANAGER

Grace helps students develop the knowledge and skills to become Peer Guides and Anne Frank Ambassadors. She has a particular interest in Holocaust education and helping students understand and challenge the prejudices faced in society today. She helps form links with Bradford’s Resilience Project. Grace is a former RE teacher and has a degree in Theology and Religious Studies.

ABIGAIL BOX, YORKSHIRE & HUMBER REGIONAL MANAGER

Abby joined the Trust in October 2013 and together with Grace Nelson, works as a Regional Manager for the Yorkshire and Humberside area. Much of her work involves running the Schools Programme, and this focusses on peer guide training and educational workshops based around the exhibition Anne Frank:  A History for Today.  The region has also built a close relationship with schools in Bradford, and has successfully helped to support the larger, Anne Frank + You exhibition in the city.  Abby has ten years teaching experience and was a former Head of History.  She holds a BA and MA in History.

 

PAULA FRASER, SCOTLAND PROJECT manager

Paula delivers guide training and tours of Anne Frank: A History for Today throughout Scotland. She has co-ordinated the development of a new monitoring and evaluation system for the Trust, and developed resources for schools in Scotland, commissioned by NASUWT. She has an MSc in Psychological Studies. Paula works as a part-time postgraduate tutor for the University of Glasgow, encouraging pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds into higher education.

Eilidh Lean, SCOTLAND PROJECT OFFICER

Eilidh joined the trust in 2016, having spent the previous three years working for MSPs and a MP.  She has a MA (Hons) in Social Anthropology from the University of St Andrews. Eilidh is responsible for delivering our schools and community projects across Scotland, helping young people understand the dangers of prejudice and discrimination.

Donna joined the Anne Frank Team in Dec 2014 when the Trust expanded its remit to cover the West Midlands Region. Donna is a qualified history teacher having specialised in War Studies and Terrorism at both Wolverhampton and Birmingham Universities. Donna’s passion and commitment to her role has led her to embark upon a personal journey in August 2015 to visit Bergen-Belsen where Anne And her sister Margot died in 1945.

Anne Frank Trust Prison Project

STEVE GADD, PRISON PROJECT MANAGER

Steve manages and delivers the Anne Frank Prison Project and has taken the Anne Frank exhibition to all categories of prison, male and female, from high security to open prisons and young offenders’ institutions. The project has received great acclaim from prisons throughout the UK and from other professional bodies in the prison sector.

Fundraising and events

Sonia Uddin, Fundraising officer

Sonia leads on Trusts and Corporate fundraising. Previously she managed a portfolio of trusts for the Charity City Gateway, based in Tower Hamlets. This role involved developing and writing funding proposals for community engagement projects with local, disadvantaged young people, vulnerable women and families. She completed an MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and continues to maintain a collaborative and social art practice.

 

Adam Whiley, Grants and policy

 OFFICER

Adam joined the Trust in 2015. He is responsible for researching and writing funding proposals to public and private funders, as well as managing the Trust’s existing portfolio of grants. He is also responsible for monitoring relevant government, social and education policy for use across the charity. Adam read History at Oxford University and Museum Studies at UCL, and has previously worked in development roles for a number of charities.

 

JULIA CLARFIELD, EVENTS MANAGER

Julia joined the Trust in 2010. She is reponsible for the organisation of our annual lunch to mark Holocaust Memorial Day and other fundraising events.  She has over 15 years of experince in marketing and communications.  Previously she worked within the IT industry for an array of organisations including Hewlett-Packard.

Layla joined the trust in 2016 after returning from volunteering in El Salvador. Previous to this she worked at the NGO Race on the Agenda after completing her BA in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Manchester. Layla was first introduced to the Trust when she volunteered at an Anne Frank + You exhibition in Manchester and will now be working as an Events Administrator in the Fundraising team.

SIAMA KHAN, Senior COMMUNICATIONS officer

Siama joined the Trust in 2014. She is responsible for a range of communications including social media, PR and marketing campaigns. She recently completed an MA in Image and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London. Prior to joining the Trust, Siama worked for the Science Museum, in the communications, events and retail departments.

Zaiba joined the Trust in 2016 after graduating in BSc Media Studies and Sociology at City University London. She is responsible for supporting all elements of the Trust’s PR and communications initiative particularly through online activity. Prior to joining the Trust, Zaiba undertook a work placement with Communicate magazine as an events assistant, as well as successfully completing work experience with PR agency, Blue Rubicon.

Rhiannon Parkinson, ADMINISTRATion assistant

Rhiannon joined the Trust in 2015 as a communications intern and in 2016 took on the role of Administration Assistant. Prior to her role at the Trust, she undertook an MA in Genocide Studies at the University of Amsterdam.

Michele works on a freelance basis and is responsible for the production of the management accounts alongside the senior management team and helps ensure the smooth running of the Trust’s finances.

REBECCA OHAYON, FINANCE MANAGER

Rebecca is responsible for managing the Trust’s finances. She is a Qualified Chartered Accountant (Ernst & Young) with 11 years experience as a Business Analyst with Citigroup and Lloyds TSB. Her roles involved analysing and determining strategic focus, product profitability, budgeting, co-ordination with internal functions, and discussion and issue resolution with senior management.

 

REBECCA OHAYON, FINANCE AND GRANT MANAGER

DR EVA SCHLOSS MBE, honorary life president

Eva is a survivor of Auschwitz and is the stepdaughter of Otto Frank. She has published three books, After Auschwitz, Eva’s Story and The Promise (for younger children) about her experiences. Eva does a lot of work in Holocaust education, mainly in UK and US schools, and has an Honorary Doctorate in Civil Law in connection with that work. She was a co-founder of the Trust and was awarded an MBE in 2011 for her work.

GILLIAN WALNES MBE, vice president

Gillian was a co-founder of the Trust in 1990. She was our principal spokesperson, managing all communications and leading the Trust’s continued development. Gillian has overseen the staging of nearly 200 public exhibitions, and created and planned many national campaigns and projects, including national Anne Frank Day and the Anne Frank Tree planting programme.
