The Anne Frank Trust
Annual Lunch 2020
London Hilton on Park Lane,
12 noon – 2.30pm
You are warmly invited to our 18th Annual Lunch which this year marks Holocaust Memorial Day and the 75th anniversaries both of the liberation of Auschwitz – where the Frank family were incarcerated, and which our Honorary President Eva Schloss MBE, Anne Frank’s step sister, survived – and of the death of Anne Frank herself, in Bergen Belsen in February or March 1945.
Hosted by BBC journalist Jo Coburn, we will hear from our special guest speaker Dame Esther Rantzen, who has been a friend of The Anne Frank Trust for many years.
Receiving her honours for founding her charities ChildLine – promoting child protection, and Silver Line – designed to prevent loneliness in older people’s lives, Dame Esther is famed for presenting the TV show That’s Life. In 1988 on a special edition, Dame Esther brought the story of Sir Nicholas Winton and his role in the Kindertransport to wider public attention, reuniting him with just some of the 669 children he rescued from the Nazis. Dame Esther later produced a documentary called ‘Winton’s Children’ telling the extraordinary story.
We do hope you will join us for our 18th Annual Lunch, which is very generously supported and hosted by Mrs Daphne Schild and family.
Tickets are £150 each to include a three course meal with wine. Tables of 10 are £1,500.
