Lord Alf Dubs
Lord Alf Dubs arrived in the UK in 1939 as a six-year-old refugee fleeing the persecution of Jews in Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia. He was one of 669 children from Czechoslovakia who escaped the Holocaust who escaped the Holocaust on the Kindertransport organised by Sir Nicholas Winton. In 2016 he was named Humanist of the Year, and tabled section 67 of the Immigration Act 2016, otherwise known as the Dubs Amendment.
