The first ever Anne Frank Creative Writing Awards, launched on 20 May 2020, invited young people across the country to take Anne Frank as their inspiration and create a piece of writing that called for a world free from prejudice.
Between launch day and deadline on 30 June, we received 937 entries from 10 –15 year-olds across the UK. Anne Frank is clearly an inspiration to young people, and the subject of prejudice and discrimination in today’s society is one about which they feel strongly.
After 2 weeks of deliberation and judging, Booker Prize winner Bernardine Evaristo and Anthony Anaxagorou, announced their chosen winners.
The winning entry in each category will be read aloud by Anthony and Bernardine, filmed and shown on our website.
